Nitrogen Refining for Industry.
Nitrogen in waste streams occurs in the form of ammonium or organically bound nitrogen. Circular Values was the first in the Netherlands to see the circular value of this nitrogen developed Nitrogen Refining for industry so that only the excess components are disposed of in concentrated form. The nitrogen is recovered into a liquid inorganic fertilizer such as ammonium sulfate or ammonium nitrate. This results in a high-quality fertilizer substitute. We call this process nitrogen stripping or nitrogen cracking. On several farms in the Netherlands Quadro is already applied for refining manure but this process is also excellent to apply on a large scale for industry.
Reverse Osmosis
One way to process waste streams into mineral concentrate is through Reverse Osmosis. Circular Values Industries' Reverse Osmosis plant works on the principle of membrane filtration using (high) pressure. Dissolved particles cannot pass through the membrane. So these particles such as ions, viruses, bacteria and other dissolved substances are stopped and enter a concentrated stream. Only water is allowed to pass through the membrane. The outgoing streams from the process are thus a mineral concentrate on the one hand and dischargeable “clean” water on the other. The mineral concentrate that remains may be used as a fertilizer substitute.
Separation techniques
In addition to various techniques for refining valuable components from manure, Circular Values Industries also has various techniques for separating manure or sludge. Pre-separation of manure into thick and thin fractions is required for optimal processing of manure in nitrogen stripper or Osmosis plants. Farmcubes Manure Separation is a modular concept, where (a combination of) different types of installations can be chosen to achieve optimal output. Products we can offer include:
- Belt Press
- Dewatering table
- DAF-unit (Dissolved Air Flotation)
- Polymaker
